What’s new with Digital Wrench?

We have added a new credit card provider to Digital Wrench called Clearent. They have great rates and will compare to what you are currently using. Plus, they will give you a credit card machine to use. Digital Wrench simply puts the amount on the machine for you, then the customer swipes/touches/inserts their card, and if it’s good it will bring back allowable card information and store it in Digital Wrench. There is an option you can set up so it will remember the token, so you can charge the same card later without the customer being there. It’s pretty nice. You should check it out at: https://go.clearent.com/vmt

We’ve also formed a partnership with a company that does image backups to the cloud of our software and data. We’ve been trying it here for months and it seems to work well. The difference between our backup and this one is, you don’t need to close the files. So, it can be automatically done once a day or more. If you have trouble finding the time to use our backup program, you might want to try this. They start at $19.90 a month, but losing your data could cost you thousands. You can check them out here: https://datahealth.com/digitalwrench or call them at 888-656-3282 option 1.

We are curious if you are interested in having instant financing available for big-ticket items. If you are, you can go to wisetack.com and see what you think. We would appreciate any feedback.

As for us, we are still working on new improvements that you, our customers, have requested. We hope to implement rentals and storage fees this year. There aren’t as many updates as there used to be as Digital Wrench has matured quite a bit. Implementing a new credit card interface is always a big venture, but we think it was worth it.

Be sure you check out some of the built-in marketing features of Digital Wrench to keep your customers coming back. When it’s slow or you know it’s going to be slow, start sending some Emails to your customers. Since we’ve moved the Eletter capability into Digital Wrench, you can use the EList feature to create an unlimited number of lists that you can use to send pertinent information to a set of your customers.

We don’t send out a lot of Email Newsletters as you may have gathered. We have a much better way of informing you of new changes in the Update Screen. You can get to that screen by clicking on File, Check for new updates. We’ve been putting newsletters in there as well as documenting what has been added to each version. You can also click on the new “Suggestion Box” icon at the top of the Update Screen (if that doesn’t work, you may have to click on the Web button just to the right so it will open up in your default browser.) This will allow you to make a suggestion that gets sent directly to the programmers’ Email.

If you don’t know, we now interface with a Signature Pad so your customers can sign and it prints on the invoice and stores the signature for job approval and payment.

We also interface with the Zebra barcode printer and their software which allows you to create a barcode and pull in the data we send from inventory or the inventory utility.

The current version is 6.0.00. You can check out what we’ve done by going to the Update Link Here, or by going to File, Check for Updates in Digital Wrench.

And whatever you do, be sure to call us if you have an issue. Most of the time it’s a simple fix. We’ve seen people put up with some annoyance that was easily fixed in setup, or it was a bug. Either way, we want to know about it.

Good Luck & have fun!
